Yesterday I realised I share the same birthday
as many other people in HwaChong! :O
Cos the birthday song was sung by many groups of people
many times in HC yesterday
There was a birthday song singing marathon
started by a group of HwaChong guys!
Then 最爱的三八s sang a birthday song for me too!
Hahaha 我真的很感动！
3 years already
Every year got yall to sing birthday song for me 太幸福了!!! ^^

We sang in the canteen and even in the audi! ;DD
Then the math teacher said later
"I heard many of yall singing the birthday song just now
don't know whether real or fake" HAHAHA (Y)
Then she shared with us something uber cool!
She said in a class of 30+ people
the probability of finding someone with the same birthday as you
is 1 out of 23
Still can't figure out why though O.O

Today is a funny day! Just logged into Blogger and looked at my Stats, then apparently got some person google-searched "Mr Nigel Kaw" LOL! How come Mr NK got stalker one! So shocking. I clicked on the link and browsed through the search results, then I saw a blog commenting that Mr NK is very random and lame HAHAHA in 2006. He's still like that leh he hasn't changed! XD And apparently he did a thesis essay about Superheroes or something. Moumouren if you're reading this now, do consider google-searching him. Quite interesting. HAHAHA!!!

On the way back home on the bus with Kaixuan Weihui Shumin and Xiuyi, we overheard the conversation of some HwaChong boys. Emphasise overheard! We didn't eavesdrop kay these boys were talking super loudly xO Judging from their talking style and content, should be sec ones lah. Their conversation was quite entertaining. There's this boy who kept boasting that he's taking Jap (in front of his seniors including Jap pros Xiu and Shu!) then he tried to show off by reciting 1 to 10 in Japanese but failed terribly. "Ichi Ni San Yon Go ___ Nana Hachi Kyu... eh eh eh??" OMG I laughed like mad.

For IP week activities today we had a Chemistry quiz. We were supposed to get into groups of 3 to 5 and do questions from 10 stations. It's quite (Y). 800 over students travelling around doing chemistry questions together. It's so chim! Our chiongster group totally tikam-ed a lot of questions...and got most of them wrong :P In the end when the teachers announced the top 10 groups, very epic-ly, all 10 groups were from HCI. Not even one from NY leh :OO! But I heard they exchanged answers. Nevermind we have integrity!!

Hao lah shall start reflecting on my 2011 :)

Thinking about 2011, the first thought that came to my mind was, I spent too much time on Facebook!!! ROAR. NOT GOOD! XO Even though Facebooking quite excessively didn't have a significant impact on my studies, I could have used the time to do more meaningful and enriching stuffs like reading nice books, watching nice movies and listening to nice songs. So in 2012, I shall try to lessen my time spent on Facebook :D

2011 is a special year cos, I think I grew up a bit and matured a bit through being an assistant monitor. It's different from my previous leadership roles because, there's a lot more responsibilities and work to do, a lot more communication work and decisions to be made. Through this role, I realised how hard it is to make a decision that will make everyone happy, and in this process, communication is really very important. There's one thing that I really admire Gennie about. That she takes into consideration the opinions and voices of the 'minority' and tries her best to reach a compromise. Like the start of the year when all of us were deciding on the design and colour of our class tee. Many people would have just followed the decision of the 'majority' and the 'minority' has to accept. But she tried to talk to the people who were quite against the decision made by the majority and work out on how we can make everybody happy. And I like it that she seldom takes matters into her own hands and seeks the opinions of other classmates first, via class voting etc. In 2011, working alongside Gennie really made me gain a lot of new insights on how a leader should be like. Working with her for our awesome class is really a pleasure :) I remember within the first few days after school reopened, I screwed up our first class phone relay because I slept all the way from 8pm to the next morning xP! That was then that I realised, I really had to change that very bad habit of mine, which was like checking my phone once every few hours :X! From then on, I decided that I shall always have my phone beside me just like Woonyee the 大忙人. That's the first change in me after becoming an assistant monitor. The second change should be the ability to cope with stress. HAHAHAHA there were many instances when I was dropping hair over class matters especially the Youth Day Funfair period. Got a lot of 幕后工作 but I'm really glad helpful and lovely sanbas were always there to give us super woah! suggestions to improve and help out wherever they could ^^ I think that is my 最大的满足感. That all of us had a role to play and that all of us were working towards a common goal as a class, in the process forging stronger bonds. Even though it was quite sad that we didn't collect the most amount of money, what is more important is that I think all of us had fun and 那就已经足够了 :) I should have been a more assertive partner to Gennie, and not just wait til she asked me to help. There was this period of time when a lot of YFC streets-sales sign-up sheets and sales forms flooded our class and poor Gennie was left alone flooded by those forms. So a lesson learnt is, must be more proactive and 主动!

Academics wise, I'm satisfied with myself HAHAHA but could have done better got space for improvement. I think I've managed to put in my best in whatever I do, so don't really have regrets. Quite interestingly I learnt a lot from studying too! As in not facts lah, life skills. Here of course must mention my favourite teacher! It's amazing how studying a subject can teach you values like determination and not to give up easily. Math has made me a better and stronger person, and has taught me the importance of not being complacent. Anw my favourite teacher! Every time we saw Mr Khoo when we went back and visited Nanyang, he would flash us this super bright smile! ^^ I hope Mr Khoo doesn't miss us too much :(

hahaha 2011, I'm glad I had manymany great and wonderful teachers whom I owe my goodgood results to. Talking about teachers...HC teachers are a bit the scary...they are really like lecturers and teachers, quite impossible to laugh and joke around with. Haiz NY chers can be like friends one lor... Anw I am glad that for our first term we have Mrs Chua with us! If I face really serious problems (which I hope I won't) I would prefer to go look for her and talk. During her briefing with us a few days ago, she told us we cannot keep thinking NY is better than HC and get stuck in the past. Which shook me quite a bit because it's true, that no matter how much we miss how it's like in NY, we can never go back. Must look forward, and make full use of what HC has to offer. So in 2012, I shall stop comparing, and embrace and adapt to the changes and differences.

As for my CCA, I think I should just reflect on my whole 4 years. Being in a slack CCA which became not so slack just last year, I must admit I really didn't put in a lot of effort into my CCA as compared to average NY girls. It's not my CCA's problem, it's my problem, because unlike Yuyao who's very passionate about Scrabble and eager to improve her skills, I'm very bochup about CCA matters and am extremely passive. During the last 4 years, there's so much I could have done like memorising my Scrabble words-list well and play online Othello and be more enthusiastic about CCA matters etc, but I guess I didnt bother to and it's too late for regrets D: I am sad that I didn't contribute much, and make my CCA a bigbig and wonderful part of my NY experience, like how it is for a lot of Nanyang girls. During my NY days, whenever I hear classmates and friends talking about CCA practices and trainings and funfun stuffs enthusiastically, I would feel sad sometimes that I'm not that connected to my CCA and that other than a few close friends I didn't really get to know my other CCA mates. So, I shall not let history repeat itself in HC! I shall attempt to join a CCA which I really feel passionate for and am interested in, and be an enthusiastic member! :) JC seems to be the wrong time to be hiong, but I'll really try my best to manage my time well and maintain balance between my studies and CCA. 青春cannot留白!!

Lastly, relationships! 2011, I have been a bad girl :( I used to pray and talk to God every night before I sleep, but in 2011 I seldom do so D: Sometimes I prayed but was so tired I ended up sleeping before I finished talking to God. But God being magnanimous forgave me and continued to give me His blessings :) 2012, I shall read the Bible more often and talk to God more frequently and be grateful to Him for everything He has bestowed to me :D

Family! Hahaha I think being a Nanyang girl taught me how to express my love more LOLS 2011 I kept proclaiming my love for my family members to them and received mixed reactions. My mother began proclaiming her love for us also and say I very 孝顺; Popo and daddy will just smile happily; Elton and Amelia totally reject my love and tell me I'm 恶心 hmph :( but of course when their mood is good they will tell me they love me too (followed by "eee I take back my words" but I know it's true and they're too shy) which makes me awww ;D I think it's important that we show our love and appreciation towards our family members, especially towards our 长辈s who have sacrificed so much to raise us up. I think for them, just knowing that we love and care for them too is enough :) 2012, I shall strive to be a more patient and loving sister to my brother cos this year is an important year for him!!! O LEVELS. Poor Elton is stressed and tired. So I must do my part to helppppp~ Even though my teaching skills seriously... CMI :(

Friends! I feel reallyreally fortunate and grateful for having so many wonderful people in my life who are always willing to lend me a helping hand whenever I malu or fail; and so many bright-like-sun people who have brought so much joy and laughter into my life; and really great people who have inspired me to become a better person. I shan't mention names here, because manymany of you are important to me. Sekali I write then yall will start seeing whose names appear first then think they are more important or something LOLS. 你们都很好我很爱你们. Those closer to me yall know who you are la don't need me to mention names here hahaha ;D I don't know what kind of friend I am, but I hope I have been a not bad friend to yall too :) 2011, there were minor clashes here and there with friends, but I'm glad that we managed to resolve them, and in some cases knew more about each other and learnt to tolerate and accept ;D 2012, I shall strive to be a listening friend, the always there for yall type. Hope can :):)

I shall summarise 2011 with a sentence, something that I realised is really true:
比起结果，过程还是更重要

After working for the first time in our lives, Haoqing Weihui Kaixuan and I were sharing with each other our 辛酸 stories of how we learnt English when we were young. Cos my family members don't really know English, I had quite a hard time learning the language I'm typing in now. Hahaha I feel so accomplished all of a sudden ^^ I remember in K1, our teacher gave each of us a worksheet, and I didn't know what "NAME" is. There's a blank beside that word, so I just copied the classmate sitting beside me and wrote her name. After that she realised and complained to the teacher, then the teacher scolded me and I felt so sad D:

Then there's another time in P1, we were writing our first picture composition. My English was really CMI. I couldn't use the language to express myself at all and didn't know how to. So I resorted to copying one whole short story from an Enid Blyton storybook and handed it in to my teacher. One fine day my teacher summoned me up to the front of the class where the teacher's table was and told me that I had to redo it. She tried to help me but couldn't cos I was so clueless and didn't know what to do. She eventually got so desperate she said to me in a veryvery 无奈 and irritated tone, “告诉我你要写什么！讲华语！” I was so scared and helpless I burst out crying in front of the whole class.

Later that year cos end-of-years was coming, my popo decided to lock me up inside a room and made me read my textbooks manymany times. If I am not wrong, I remember reading my English textbook (Celebrate English!) 3 or 4 times. The whole thing kay! Hahaha I am very amazed at how ting hua I was then. If my popo do the same thing to me now I would most probably be rebellious and sleep. :P Anw popo's method worked and I got Band 1 for English :) Super duper grateful to popo cos if not for her strict discipline 我不可能会成为今天的我 ;D

With this 心酸 de story, hopefully I can inspire all of you and remind myself to not give up no matter how difficult a situation may be. If a 7 year-old girl could find the courage to persevere and push herself on, I don't see why we can't. As long as we're willing to work hard, 总有一天应该会成功的 :DD JIAYOUUU~!!! And 千万不要怕辛苦 :) 2012, 我们一起努力！

It has been an overwhelming day. It's been such a long time since I last felt so overwhelmed I need to take time out to reflect on the day. I shall shun bian reflect on 2011 too! :D Firstly I would like to share with all of you something which truly made my day!! My primary school friend Cheryl is coming to join us in Hwa Chong! ^^ Everybody please 关照 her thank you thank you! :DD The funny thing is, we were in the same bus and she saw me when I got on the bus with my beloved sanbas, but she wasn't sure whether it was me. And it was only until we were going to get off the bus that I saw her, and she told me she's coming to HC. Instantaneous burst of joy!!! XD And I really like how both of us were so happy and smiled so brightly to each other through the bus window thingy ;DD Super 有缘份 (Y)!

Met up with Shumin Xiuyi Hsiuyee Chiaying Weihui Baobao and Kaixuan (in order of appearance :P) early in the morning to do weird stuffs! Like examining the staff board which has always been our favourite hobby hahaha! :DD There are manymany new and unfamiliar faces. New teachers. New blood! :) While taking a leisurely stroll around the school, we realised the Science department has been relocated to the Science block :OO quite cool. And hahaha we wrote a note to Ms Chee in which all of us wrote one word each! We wrote something like "Hi Miss Chee! Guess who are we!" I wonder if Ms Chee can decipher our handwritings O.O I think it's a bit challenging :P But I hope she can!! Then later on we saw Mr Chong who's still so epic and funny. "How come you all not wearing your JC uniform? Nanyang's uniform is still the best right" LOL!! ^^ But really, I love our hongzi :) The most epic thing is, while strolling in the Science Block and peeking into the classrooms opposite us, I thought I saw Mr Khoo when we drifted past. My fangirling mode was switched on and I began exclaiming "Mr Khoo! Mr Khoo!". Weihui also thought that teacher was Mr Khoo so she began exclaiming with me too. After taking a closer look, we realised it's not Mr Khoo, but Mr Calvin Lee instead! Malu to the max x__x

It's really nice to be around 我最爱的三八s again! x3 All of us were so happy to see each other ^^ Even though Sinlie kept suanning my hair say I look more 师奶, I think she's happy to see me too cos she kept smiling very happily at me HAHAHAHA!!! xD I LOVE YOU TOO SINLIE!!! x3 Spent the afternoon playing bridge with Danielle, Sarah and Samantha. Samantha is an extreme 赌鬼 seriously I suspect she won't be able to live without bridge and poker cards! When I told her I brought poker cards, I practically saw the glow in her eyes @__@ We were partners and our cards were super lan :( but nehmind. Sammie is pro! (Y) We were so absorbed in our game that when Mr Tay walked past and wished us good luck, all of us just nodded and went back to our game HAHAHAHA!!! :X Sanbas should have said "thank you Mr Tay" as a class with that guaikia tone~ But I'm sure all of us appreciated Mr Tay's care and concern la :) Daebak cher! (Y)

Results! Was quite nervous because Yang Laoshi was smiling the "looks pleased, but like not very pleased" smile then Hilary and I began to worry if it's because we didn't do well :( And HAHAHA Hilary and I were totally cheering when one of the slides showed that there's 100% pass for Jap and French xD Quite pleased with my results la, even though I could have done better for Jap. Could have studied harder and put in more effort. I got the same grade as my Prelims! So I 原地踏步ed. Not bad la not bad. Just that it's quite paiseh cos I kept telling Weihui on FB chats, "we sure can get A2 one lah! don't worry! A1 will be a bonus!"

And during the results thingy, Mdm Heng was telling us about the various upcoming events in which we can come back and participate in. Like the CNY concert, prize-giving and High Tea. I burst out laughing with Hilary when we saw the "High Tea"! HAHAHA we were excited about the food. yum food ;) die also must crawl back. Other than being quite amused, I was feeling touched. Cos our 娘家 took so much effort to organise these activities for us, so that we can come back and visit. and maybe even rant. ;D even though we have graduated, they are still concerned about our well-being as well as the problems we are going to face across the bridge, and will do their best to help us. 娘家 is really an apt word to describe the relationship between us and Nanyang. 娘家随时欢迎我们回去 ^^ I know I said this manymany times before, I just want to say I'm so glad I came to Nanyang :D

After the results thingy was our class outing! :DD Woah I really stressed a lot over organising this outing, cos different people want to do different things, but I'm really glad sanbas are very 好商量的 people and they are willing to compromise so in the end we could all go watch a movie together!! Although yes, the movie really quite errr... x__x the boy is cute! and it's quite funny ;D I just hope all of us had a good time together with all of us and enjoyed the outing! One lesson I learnt from this outing is that, watching movies is not so good for bonding! I think we enjoyed the bus trips and our dinner together more LOL cos we had the chance to talk. and gossip. :X like what subject combis we are taking and what ccas we are intending to join etc. So! I am enlightened. For our next outing, unless the movie is very nice and sanbas reallyreally want to watch it, we shall not watch a movie again!

LET'S PICNIC INSTEAD!!!

(Y) But personally I think the song choice for the dance is a bit...

hahahaha... inappropriate... :X

oh well! Maybe it's cos the rhythm and the beats in the song enhances the coolness of the dance :):)

CGG outing started with 3 members being late! :X
Erntian was late for 10 minutes
Jermia was late for 20 minutes
and Woonyee was late for 30 minutes
Poor Yushan and Jiexi had to wait for us! :P

Had loads of fun teaching Woonyee how to cycle! ^^
Cos in the process we kept singing songs and doing gila stuffs
like singing and dancing to Wonder Girls' "Be My Baby" :):)
Laughed like mad when Jiexi did Yuri's part in The Boys!!
The "girls bring the boys out!" part
Can't stop laughing whenever the image of Auntie Jiexi
doing 早操 flashes through my mind ;D

Under CGG's guidance
(mainly Erntian Jiexi and me only
cos Yushan was a super fail shifu! xP
While all of us were explaining to Woon the techniques
Yushan kept saying, "it's instinct!"
which didn't really help lor!)
Woonyee has made great progress!
Haiz wanted to buy a birthday cake
to celebrate WoonJie's birthdays
but Woonyee the 大忙人 had to fly off to somewhere else
so we didn't buy in the end D:

So the four of us went to Pastamania to have lunch
where we talked about how
we came to be known as CGG! xDD
Apparently one fine day the 5 of us
were having lunch in the canteen and
having our usual aunties' talk
We were discussing the cliques in 204
then Yushan suggested giving a name to each of the clique
in which Jiexi replied something like
"Then we are what! Cool Girls' Gang ah!"

When she said this
Anne Hwarng happened to pass by and heard everything
then she spreaded the Cool Girls' Gang thingy to the whole class!
After that various gangs began to pop out too
Like Haoqing and Minghui's Cool Boys' Gang
and Anne Hwarng's Super Cool Boys' Gang
Hahahaha!! Those lamelame 204 days ;D

After that we went to Giant
where we walked around the toys section
and reminisced our childhood days
in which nearly all of us had a beyblade!
We'd compete and see whose beyblade would spin the longest (Y)
Then whenever we pulled our beyblades we would shout
"GO BEYBLADE!!!" XD

I'm super glad and delighted that
recently I've been keeping in touch
with primary school friends again! \(^^)/

The Kimchi told me a super duper cool thing (Y)

Got one day his father bought some eggs
but accidentally dropped one
Then the egg cracked and sizzled! :OO!
Cos that time the temperature in Dubai was around 50 d/c
I was wondering how they actually survive there
then Kimchi told me the people there don't walk on streets at all
They travel using cars
and that the Dubai government actually gives every citizen
a car or something O__O! FOR FREEEEE
An Emirati (?) family has an average of 3 cars and 3 houses!

So rich I don't think I'll ever have the chance to live there =/

the more I feel my blog's url is super lameee! Dx
But I won't ever change it
even after I become a toothless 100 year old old lady :P
Don't laugh hor! I thought of this url name when I was in P6
so yall must understand~ :D
I remember when Uncle Samuel wanted to help me
create my first email address when I was 10
he asked me what username I wanted
then I wrote down for him something like

jermiacutepets1995

or something more ridiculous x__x
Luckily Uncle Samuel didn't let me have my way!
He helped me create a more normal-sounding email address
But at that time I was quite angry with him
cos my email address don't have cutepets in it xO!

I shall do a reflection of 2011
and write about lame people crashing Nanyang
on the first day of school
in the next blog post!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU! :D

2012 started on a happy note with a sudden
flood and spammage of new year greetings smses
I feel loved and touched

Really hope 2012 will be an awesome and fruitful year
for all of us ^^

Even though it has only just started
I'm looking forward to the rest of the year already! :)
There are so many fun and exciting activities ahead like
crashing Nanyang on the first day of school
bridge lesson(s) with shifu and shiniang
working for the first time in my life :OO
408 class gathering ^^
as well as our much anticipated CGG outing
to celebrate Auntie Jiexi and Woody's birthdays! XD

I'm sure 2012 is filled with hope and excitement for you too!
Let's all jiayou together in the year ahead :):)

or however you call it
whenever I see 2012 I'll think of the following:
